Ice Age Collision Course *Discovery Cube*
One of the things my daughter and I have in common is our love for the museum. When we moved to California I was happy to know that there was a children's science museum close to our home. We actually have a membership to COSI in our hometown of Columbus Ohio. Our pass is apart of ACM which allows you to visit other museums in different states for free. The discovery cube is one of the museums and we frequent it often.
When we got invited to come to the Discovery Cube to view the Ice Age Collision Course video game and meet the Co-director and head of story, we were very excited. Ice Age is one of those movies that comes on FX often and we watch it every single time as if we have never seen it before. It doesn't matter which one it is, we will sit and watch the entire movie. I am for sure one of those adults who thoroughly enjoys an animated movie. Amirah has a love for art that she got from my mother, she loves to sit and paint and draw first thing in the morning. When we were at the museum we were able to meet Co director Galen Chu and head of story Jony Chandra. We took a mini art class where we learned how to draw some of the characters. Galen Chgu showed us some never before scenes of the movie. He also shared some of the secrets that go into making each scene make us laugh. We also got a private tour of the museum and all ice age related exhibits. I even discovered some cool exhibits we never even realized were there.
We had such a great time during our visit and really enjoyed the meet and great and learning the work that goes behind the movie. I especially enjoyed watching my daughter take in all the information and develop a greater appreciation for some of her favorite movies. You can check out the new game at www.iceagemissioncontrol.com it's tons of fun. The dvd is also in stores now and we have already watched it three times!
Make sure you take your kids to a museum at least once a month so they can discover new things.
