Morganite Engagement Ring
For all of my new followers and viewers I wrote about my ring previously on my old space. However all of my post got deleted and I was only able to save a few.
Many people often ask me about my engagement ring and why I chose to get a morganite center stone verses a Diamond. Well first let me give you the meaning behind the morganite.
Morganite with its clear, peach-pink innocence embodies the first pale rays of sunrise that swells the heart and warms the soul, releasing a sense of smallness in a vast universe and opening to the overwhelming presence of a Higher power. This is a Crystal of Divine Love. It brings healing, compassion, assurance and promise
Wearing Morganite, especially in gem form, evokes a sense of peace, joy and inner strength; worn for extended periods of time, it encourages a growth of confidence and power that comes from a constant awareness of the connection to Divine love
Now at this point I'm sure you are thinking that I' ma hippie flower child and that would be correct. I've always believed in the energy of this world and the natural healing powers of the things the creator has provided us. Morganites are also used for circulation, along with creating peace within the home. I knew whenever we got engaged I wanted to get something meaningful and morganites have always stuck out to me.
Originally I found this ring on Pinterest that was very similar to mine, the only difference is it was set in platinum. The ring was priced at 11k and was hand made by an amazing female Jewelry designer by the name of Cynthia Wolf. I fell in love with the ring instantly and showed it to my fiancé. It was very important for me to have something that meant something to both of us. He wanted me to have a diamond center stone at first but once I asked him why and we got past the point of it being a silly tradition we moved forward with the morganite.
I am one of those people who believes in only doing things that mean something to you and your family. Tradition is important as long as that tradition is something that expresses and shares your own beliefs. If diamonds are super important to you, then you should get a diamond. However do not get overwhelmed and stressed about getting something to impress other people. Your ring is not a reflection of your love, it should be something that merely represents it.
I really wanted to have a rose gold ring and we agreed to use diamonds on the halo and band. Now just like Diamonds you can find some really cheap and or expensive morganites. Do not be tempted by the super cheap ones because just like any gem the quality is important. You don't have to spend 11k on a ring either. There are some morganites that range from $1500-$7k that are very beautiful and well made. You want to go for a morganite that has not been heat pressured. Although once they apply heat pressure to a morganite it lets out a very beautiful ray of pink and orange tones. The more cloudy and or pink the stone is the less valuable it becomes. The quality of any stone you wear every single day needs to be high. My ring was made in Hawaii by an Asian couple who specifies in rare gem engagement rings. That was very important to me as well, I wanted the energy in my ring to be positive and made with care.
I couldn't be any happier with my ring and I suggest that everyone get something that means something to them. Make sure you get a good quality ring, it's better to get a small ring of great quality than a big ring that is cloudy and not well made. Also word of advice, if you get a morganite ring they can pick up oil and grease from you skin and hair products. I would suggest not wearing it when you are showering or doing your hair, it cuts down on cleaning time. When you clean it use hot water and then dry it with a ring rag. Or my favorite thing to do is to just use Bling Wipes, they work instantly and amazingly well.
I have a 3 1/2 karat rose gold diamond halo morganite engagement ring. I love every bit of it because I feel centered and at peace with my ring but most importantly my fiancé Chea.
